Syracuse ADAPT
Syracuse, New York
Revitalized after 12 years

I believe the action today is very important. We are supposed to be going forward in America, not backward. We cannot protect other countries if we can’t take care of ourselves.”

“We are too important to this society. Everybody counts in America; every voice is important.

Austin ADAPT
Austin, Texas

I would like to write a book about what I said last night, about what goes on in an nursing home. Most of society does not understand what goes on in the nursing home and why my friend Kenny would like to throw his life into a trashcan."

"I wish to tell [Secretary] Thompson that it is imperative we pass MiCASSA because I don’t want to see any more people live a trashcan existence. Nursing homes strip away your personhood; you just give up; you don’t want to live anymore.
