Steve Gold marches to the beat of a different drummer at the ADAPT action in May.

Behind him the ADAPT flag waves in the breeze and a sea of ADAPT members in yellow rain gear and blue ADAPT shirts fill H Steet, literally from curb to curb as far                                                         back as the picture shows.

Behind them looms the New Old Executive Office Building, home of the OMB - Office of Management and Budget.

Linda Anthony decked out in her statue of Liberty hat and costume sits in from of the 8 foot lall Mother's Day Card entitled "A Mother's Day Wish to Barbara and Laura Bush: Give the Gift of Freedom."

Mark Anthony and another young man hold the card upright.

The crowd of ADAPT folks getting ready to march to the White House.

They will deliver the card.

Sitting to the right of Linda is Kyle Glozier holding the Liberty torch.

ADAPT knows that our Mother's do not want to go to nursing homes. Perhaps the Mothers in the White House can explain it to the Fathers in the White House.

Looking down Pennsylvania Ave toward the Capitol, ADAPT marches in a commanding single file line of over 600 disability rights advocates.

A line of cars is stopped on the right as hundreds of ADAPT members march from 7th Street on to Pennsylvania Ave and along the left hand side of the street, heading up to the White House on Mother's Day.

Kevin Seik, KS ADAPT, and Sloan of Denver ADAPT hold the giant mothers' day card in front of the long black metal fence in front of the white house.

ADAPT hit 3 unions during the action SEIU, AFL-CIO and AFSMCE because they had not yet signed on as MiCASSA Supporters. Pictured here is the group that hit SEIU the Service Employees International Union.

Those who could not fit inside fill the little courtyard in front of the red brick building.

You can see them through the gate.

In the front of the picture, there are nine ADAPT protesters out on the sidewalk and two passers by who stopped to talk and find out what the protest was all about.

About one week later SEIU signed on as a MiCASSA supporter. SEIU is the first (and as of this writing the only one) of the 3 unions to do so!

Lined up in front of the mother's day card and leading the march to the white house are (from left to right) Momma Cassie in her power chair with daughter Danielle in her stroller.

Beside them, "Lady Liberty" Linda Anthony with son Mark who is holding the giant card.

Next is "grandmother of ADAPT" Barb Toomer, and beside her Marva Ways (both mother and grandmother in her own right!) and beside her is Justin Dart Jr and then Kyle Glozier. Behind this row, which spans the street other marchers pushing strollers, carry ADAPT flags and get ready to head off to the White House.
